From my growing exposure towards the Japanese manga and anime culture, I started to try my hands in drawing. First by imitating the classic anime style, and slowly developing my own, over the years. However, at the time I limited myself to just drawing things within my comfort zone - no dynamic poses, no backgrounds. Merely faces and people. My drawing skills hit a point where it could not improve any further, and I reached a standstill of some sort.
Upon entering MMU, in particular the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, I was drilled into diversifying my area of skills outside of just drawing. I delved into sculpting, painting, drawing in different mediums, digital painting. From there, I started to learn about graphic design including typography and web design. Eventually, I was exposed to more advanced things like 2D animating, and finally, 3D.
Since I am a slow learner, I had to learn most of these things at my own pace, looking up the Internet and asking friends and lecturers when I did not understand something - it was a painstakingly slow process, but I had obtained valuable knowledge along the way. Even now, I continue to learn new things at my own pace every single day, enjoying every moment of my university life and absorbing knoweldge whenever possible.
The point of this website is to showcase my portfolio - a collection of the works that I had done all through my learning here, and the works I am currently working on. Hopefully, the list will continue to grow in the future.
